Affordances
Body:
An affordance can be thought of as a perceived action possibility. For example, if I see a bucket with a handle, and I perceive that I could pick it up by its handle, then that perception would be an affordance. They’re simply action possibilities that we’re aware of, and each moment presents a unique set of affordances. This set can be thought of as the perceived possibility-space of a moment, and the scope of this set depends upon a number of factors, like a person’s previous experiences, their desires, their current mental and physical health, and more. The scope of the universal possibility-space is much greater than the scope of the perceived possibility-space.
